About FECIVES

The Salvadoran Student Film and Video Festival (FECIVES) aims to showcase visual works made by Salvadoran students, professionals, and collectives. It boosts the creative production of developing producers and acknowledges their talents, refining, certifying, and rewarding them. Additionally, it promotes the growth and improvement of existing artists, encouraging the development of visual production in the country.

FECIVES also plans to use its connections with various international festivals to boost the reputation of our producers, reaching a wider and more diverse audience, including fellow citizens and communities in various parts of the world.

Our Mission

The goal of FECIVES is to create a platform for making, showcasing, and sharing audiovisual projects made in the country. This aims to cultivate an interest in cinema and attract a critical audience capable of observing and proposing solutions to the world around them.

About the Second Edition

The second edition of the festival will concentrate on audiovisual productions related to the environment. With this, we aim to solve the issue of a lack of audiovisual material for scientific dissemination and environmental awareness. By utilizing the tools and techniques of the audiovisual language, we can create productions that promote environmental education and encourage individual, collective, and communal efforts towards conserving natural resources.

The goal of this theme is to improve audiovisual production skills, mainly for young people, through a workshop that explores and teaches about the Salvadoran environment. Additionally, it aims to enhance community identity by providing a basis for the creation of audiovisual works that investigate, analyze, and reveal our social and environmental reality.

In this context, we partnered with the Environmental Investment Fund of El Salvador (FIAES), a strong and sustainable restoration fund, which collaborates with the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources. Together, we will organize workshops to encourage and advance environmental audiovisual production.
